Ken Van Vliet is married to Michelle and has two grown children, Ben (married to Abby) and Rebekah. He has served as the lead pastor of Monte Vista Chapel for nearly 25 years. In that time, Ken has facilitated a shift from an attractional / church growth culture to one that embodies spiritual formation.
Ken’s passion is to facilitate God's movement in church leaders and communities who long to be the pleasing aroma of Christ in their particular context. He regularly coaches and mentors pastors who share his desire for spiritual formation in their churches. Ken also serves as a Lead Mentor in the Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation program at Portland Seminary.
For fun, Ken enjoys most any outdoor adventure, especially on / off road motorcycle riding and fly-fishing.
